Too often, I see ice as a “no-go” zone in playgrounds, blocked off with pylons, which means children cannot explore this unique winter reality.
How do you feel about ice? Is it a condition to be avoided, or have you found ways to live with it?
Ice is an important part of our winters. When we work with young children, we need to embrace it as a novel surface for play AND learn ways to move safely on this slippery surface.
